Frequently Asked Questions.

What packages do you offer?

At the moment, our standard rate is £350 per project. This includes a full website (a front page and up to 6 inner pages), free design of low-end graphic objects like navigation buttons and icons, free email account set up, and free implementation of Joomla, a content management system which will allow you to make unlimited new content and revisions to existing content. You also get a company logo and business cards if you want them, at no extra cost.

What is the design and build process for each website?

  1. Concept.
We discuss with you your needs and the purpous of you website, in order to give it an identity and to establish a visual theme.
  2. Design
If starting from scratch, we make a template for your index page and establish exactly how it will look and where the content will go, and we set up a site map which will essentially form a blueprint for the architecture of the site, outlining where every page is and how it links to every other page.
  3. Build
We begin coding the index page and putting the content and link structure in place using external css, then write the inner pages according to the same visual theme. During this stage, we constantly check the site's mark-up using the W3C validation service to ensure that it is all tidy and working efficiently, with no unnecessary clutter. We also preview the site in all major browsers to check that everything displays the same, in order to ensure that all users have the same desired experience when viewing the site.
We also establish a sitemap so that we can stand back and oversee the full structure of the page, and ensure that all information is where it should be, and all links find that information quickly and efficiently.
  4. Testing
We make one last validity check of the entire website, then we run customer scenarios, navigating every page of the site and visualising what information the customer is looking for and how long it takes to find that information. We then invite colleagues from our parent company to navigate the site themselves and take feedback on their experiences to ensure that the entire site and it's information is completely accessible for all users.

Only when all testing is complete and all user feedback is recieved with a satisfactory response do we advance to the final stage.
  5. Launch
At this final stage, we upload your completed website to the domain we have purchased for you and ensure everything is working properly. We then introduce you to the Joomla content management system and walk you through it's basic usage so that you are comfortable creating and managing content, and provide you with a complimentary companion manual, just to make sure you have everything you need. Finally, we set out a maintenance plan for the site. Initially, we will provide you with

How long does it take to finish a site?

The duration of a project is dependant on how much work is required during the design and construction stages. If you have a template already prepared that you simply need us to make into a site, the project should be shorter as we can get straight to the build and testing stages alot quicker. If, however, you need us to design the site from scratch, depending on your own ideas and the solution we find, the project may take longer. Our aim is to spend a maximum of one month on per client, which gives us ample time to properly design, construct, and test the site before going live.

What if I want extra content like customer login functionality or flash objects?

For the moment we do not offer implementation of such content as we currently do not have the time or resources to create and develop it, especially in the time frame we have set out for each client. In the future, perhaps when we have grown as a business or have more resources at our disposal, we may move into these areas to offer a more state-of-the-art, complete web solutions package, but at current, we are only offering the basic services as outlined above.
